What is our favorite holiday and how do we celebrate it?
Our students unanimously agreed that Christmas is their favorite Holiday. It is celebrated by giving presents/gifts to family and friends. Many people also choose to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Most Americans will also decorate their homes with colorful lights, a decorated Christmas Tree and seasonal pictures and inflatable characters for their lawn.
What is the best part about living in our country?
Our students enjoy the many options we have for food here. They particularly like the fast food restaurants like McDonalds. The students are learning about democracy and voting. They were able to participate in a “mock” election at our school. They do understand that freedom is very important in the United States and they have rights that are protected.
Where would we like travel to?
All of our students said they would want to visit Disney Land and Universal Studios. A couple said they want to go visit mountains and one said that he would like to see the Rain Forest.
What it is like to go to school in our country?
Our classroom of students have a different experience than the rest on campus. We have almost the same schedule every day and we stay in the same classroom. We do leave the classroom for Lunch, Art, Gym and the Library. Sometimes when the weather is nice, we go for walks around the campus. There are four computers in our room that are used for learning games or recreation if all their work is done. The other students at our school have two schedule which alternate every-other day. With 5 classes per day. Most schools in the U.S. are in session from August until June.
What do we like to do for fun, outside of our school?
Our students enjoy watching T.V. video games (Fortnight and Minecraft) as well as playing with their friends and going to the movies. Soccer and Basketball are very popular here too.
